Before I begin this post, I want to apologize that I have not been very responsible for not continuing regular posting. I am embarrassed that I have put this on the back burner a bit to give work more of my attention. As I confess this, I want you all to know that I am making it my resolution to spend more time on this blog in 2022. That being said, I also want you all to know that I have felt a lot of pain and sadness emanating from many of you and from other Christians in my local community. While there have also been many things to celebrate in 2021, with the continuation of this pandemic, I know that we are not blind to the pain that this has caused many and neither is our Heavenly Father.
So, if you have felt like no one sees any pain or hardship that you may have or are going through this year please know that we all serve a God who sees us and this El Roi God also hears our prayers. That being said, I want you all to know that I am saying a prayer for each of us as we head into the New Year. I hope that you will join me in saying this prayer for yourself and others, and remember that we serve a God who cares and wants to give us a life that is more abundant.
Prayer for New Year 2022 (Scripture taken from Psalm 28 and 30)
To you I will cry, O Lord my Rock. Do not be silent to me…Hear the voice of my supplications when I cry to you, when I lift up my hands toward your holy sanctuary. Father, you say that weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning and there are many weeping right now. Please put your strong arms around all those who are hurting and mourning and allow them to receive your strength. As a new day begins to dawn in 2022, I pray that each hurting heart will cry out the words of David – Blessed be the Lord because he has heard the voice of my supplications. The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him and I am helped. Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song, I will praise Him. Thank you Father for your continuous love, mercy, and grace as well as being a God who sees each of us. In the great name of your son – Jesus Christ – Amen!
