Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain (Psalm 127:1).
Anyone who knows me, is aware that I am almost always busy doing something. Whether this means writing, working at my part-time animal-related job or even planning a special birthday dinner I am usually hard at work.
While our Heavenly Father encourages us to do “His Work” there are times when our efforts are in vain. In fact, while he asks us to work he also loves us enough to provide a time to rest so that we can stay humble and realize that we need Him to work through us to accomplish anything good in this world.
Of course, one of my biggest weaknesses is not feeling guilty for stopping. Thank goodness God’s power is perfected in our weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may reside in us (2 Corinthians 12:9).
I am just so grateful to have a loving father who is so willing to stop me in my tracks so that His Power can shine through. Thank you Father!!
