The “F Word”

Ok, how many were shocked by the title of this blog post and were wondering where the “F” word belongs in the Christian language? Actually, this one of the most powerful words in God’s powerful language.

Nope, it is not the word that we all “in the flesh” think of when we hear someone make reference to the “F Word”. Earlier this week I prayed that God would give me time to get back to my writing and sharing his message for HIS people. The funny thing is that he began to give me time, but I wrestled with what his next message was for each of us (Not just me!!).

Last night, he revealed this message to me. Sharing the importance of HIS “F Word” – Forgiveness.

“Be kind and compassionate to one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.” (Ephesians 4:32)

The first instance of God asking me to share his message of forgiveness was while leaving a Zumba class that I attend each week. Although, I attempted to share the importance of “Forgiveness through HIM” with a friend that is dealing with a very demonic force that is attempting to blow her family apart and leave them in ruins, this message wasn’t quite received the way that I had hoped or thought that it might be. How did I recognize this evil force? This same force tried to take my mother from us when I was 16-years-old (guess this is why I recognized it so easily).

While she finally found healing, which she found by forgiving the family members that she was angry at for many years, there are still those of us who are struggling to forgive those who have made serious scars in our lives.

While this may seem strange, but I even struggle with following this rule of faith. Yes, I get angry when I am hurt. In fact, I tried to bring this message home to my spouse last night. While he is a very good man, he has had a lot of hurt in his life and struggles to forgive much of this pain. In fact, he often forgives the person that hurts him and walks away from them completely. This is often very frustrating to me because I have a hard time letting go of people that I have attached myself to. The funny thing is that I am starting to think that God is helping him let go of the pain by walking away from it.

While I almost went to bed angry and hurt by his willingness to walk away from yet another friend that did something that hurt him instead of just moving forward with them in forgiveness, I thank God that he  helped me to see his MERCIFUL & UNCONDITIONAL LOVE for both myself and my spouse by helping me see his plan for him through HIS eyes.

While I pray that he doesn’t let a poisonous grudge take over any future feelings toward this person, I pray the same for each us. This includes me! So, before you let anger and bitterness ruin your future, let’s try to look at each person through God’s eyes and remember that he ALWAYS forgives us. Maybe it is time that we do the same!

You want to see a prime example of his forgiving and unconditional love for us? Go back to an old television show that I just had an opportunity to finish. Thank you God as even a fictional show like Saving Grace has made a powerful difference in my life.
